Former postman George White set up the No 10 Ale House in Park Road, St Annes two years ago and has delivered countless real ale pints ever since.

Now the Marton man is converting a former chiropodist shop on Whitegate Drive into his second micro-pub. It will serve more than six real ales on pump, plus draught ciders.

“It has not been easy to get planning permission but we are in now and should be open in about six weeks.

“It started off as a hobby, I like my real ale, I was a postman for 20 years before I injured my back and was laid off.

"I get great satisfaction out of keeping my beers perfect. It should be good for Whitegate Drive, this is a great area with good businesses and could easily build up.

“The No 10 in St Annes has been beneficial to the area despite being just 100 yards from a Wetherspoons.”
