Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and The Lathums added to stellar lineup at new outdoor venue

It follows announcements of Richard Ashcroft’s long-awaited homecoming shows which will be held at the 11,500 capacity venue on Saturday, July 20, now sold out, and due to demand, Sunday, July. 21.

It was announced earlier today that pop superstar James Arthur will also play the new outdoor venue on Wednesday, July 17.

Now it has been confirmed that Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will headline there on Thursday, July 18.

The Lathums will play their biggest headline show to date in a homecoming of their own on Friday, July 19.

Remaining tickets for Richard Ashcroft’s second night are already on sale from the same outlets.

Opening the run of five huge shows, James Arthur is one of the world’s biggest streaming artists, with over 38 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone.

He scored four top 10 albums, with 2016’s Back From The Edge hitting the Number one spot and over his career has collaborated with the likes of Anne-Marie, Sigala, Rudimental, Marshmello and many more.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds follow up a successful 2023 which has already seen the release of their highly anticipated, critically-acclaimed fourth studio album, Council Skies.

The band fronted by the former Oasis star, sold-out a homecoming gig at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park on August Bank Holiday weekend.

This year’s performances were rapturously received, described as “emotional and thrilling” by the BBC, “typically legendary” by the Daily Mirror, and "sounding bigger and bolder than ever" by CLASH.

In an emotional, celebratory homecoming, The Lathums, with special guests Jake Bugg and Brooke Combe, will loudly and proudly play the songs of hope and heartbreak that have filled two chart-topping albums in the town they grew up in.Richard Ashcroft closes the series, performing in Wigan for the first time in over 25 years.

Wigan has a long, illustrious music history. From George Formby’s emergence in the 1930s to the Northern Soul scene, that emerged at Wigan Casino between 1973 and 1981, then making its contribution to the ‘90s Britpop phenomena with The Verve, it has consistently contributed to the UK’s world-renowned music scene.
