And this week the cast would usually be rushing to put their skates on for an intense fortnight of rehearsals but following the 12 week lockdown across the nation owing to the Covid 19 pandemic, the Arena will now welcome the new ambitious production of Hot Ice Euphoria in 2021.

Managing director of Blackpool Pleasure Beach Amanda Thompson OBE has shared her disappointment at being unable to welcome her 'amazing cast' but promised the sparkling highlight on the park's calendar would return from July 8 2021.

The ice spectacle, which is the world’s longest running ice show, has been showing at the Pleasure Beach Arena for more than 80 years and bosses said it was with a heavy heart the exhilarating skate masterpiece had to be postponed.

Audiences who had already purchased tickets to this year's production have had them automatically transferred to next year.

A spokesperson said: "Due to the coronavirus situation we have made the extremely difficult decision to postpone Hot Ice Euphoria. We are very disappointed about this but see no other choice.

"The show will return in summer 2021 and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Pleasure Beach Arena to see it."
