Not one to sit idle in lockdown, Jason, who has continued entertaining his loyal revellers with virtual festivals, podcasts and live sets inbetween raising thousands of pounds for charity, is now putting together the final touches for his new rum bar, which will open in the Promenade in the former Strand Bar.

Marley's rum bar, named in honour of the legend reggae singer songwriter Bob Marley, is expected to open to its first guests before the end of the summer and is the DJ's first resort bar.

The DJ, who in June also released debut single with DJ partner and producer "Jester" Lee Watson and singer Daniel Pearce, said he was very excited by the new venture, he said: "I am finally getting around to opening my very own bar in Blackpool and I have the keys and have started work on it already....

"I hope to be open before the end of the summer, but I’m in no rush due to the current social distancing measures in place.

"I’m still going to be DJing and doing events and working on making music so it’s not a complete departure from that side of my life, but I haven’t DJ’d for over six months so it’s a change of thought process due to thispandemic !!

"If like me you like rum, cocktails and great music then you're gonna love what I’m creating."

The rum and reggae bar, which will also cater to karaoke lovers, will be stocked with an extensive collection of rums from across the globe, alongside rum fans' favourite Carribean tipples.

Jason added he was nervous but said the timing had been perfect for a new career opportunity and a new investment in the resort.
