Blackpool Women's Centre gets a lottery boost
The Blackpool Women’s Centre received the news following a recent move into new premises in the town centre.The centre has been granted more than £329,000 from the Big Lottery Fund, which is raised by players of The National Lottery. The money will help provide a four-year well-being service for women.
Katherine Malley, (inset) manager of the new centre on Church Street says the money will be going to a good cause.

Hide AdShe said: “It has come at a really good time and it will benefit lots of girls and women across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre especially in our new centre.
“We moved out of our old centre as it simply wasn’t big enough to meet the demand we are experiencing.
“The builing is more modern and brighter and a it’s a more welcoming enviroment especially with new disabled access.”
The new centre was opened on Wednesday by Radio Wave’s Danielle Barnett and former presenter Hayley Kay. The Blackpool Women’s Centre is part of the wider Lancashire Women’s Centres organisation which offer a network of centres across Lancashire to provide a safe, female only space.

Hide AdMs Malley says the centres are a one-stop shop for women and they can help womenwith a variey of issues such, as violence, debt and mental health.
Women and girls, whatever their needs or issues, can drop into their local centre any time between 10am and 3pm.
