Fourth Tykes test will be just as tight
Fleetwood are facing familiar foes Barnsley at Highbury tomorrow, and after the Tykes thwarted their Wembley dream Town boss Pressley is anticipating another tight battle.
It is the fourth time the clubs have clashed this season.
Town’s 1-0 league win at Oakwell was Pressley’s second after taking charge in October, then both legs of their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Northern Area Final ended 1-1, the Tykes winning 4-2 in a penalty shootout.
But that result won’t affect Pressley’s approach to tomorrow’s rematch, nor will the fact Barnsley have a new face in charge – Paul Heckingbottom took over as caretaker after Lee Johnson left to manage Championship club Bristol City in last month.
Both sides are keen to earn points towards their targets at opposite ends of the table and Pressley said: “Over the three games there was very little between the teams.
“Paul has come from within the club and seems to have kept the confidence and the results going from the time before Lee left.
“So nothing really changes with regard to the way they play and the manner they go about things, so we know what to expect.
“They put us out of the cup but that is irrelevant to me.
“The most important thing is that we turn up, do our thing and win the game.”
