Fleetwood Town boss Uwe Rosler's reaction to the 3-1 defeat to Charlton

Rosler says he went with his heart rather than his head as he stuck with the same line-up that triumphed 3-0 at Bradford in midweek.

And he held up his hands after ex-Town loan star Tarique Fosu-Henry’s perfect hat-trick fuelled Charlton’s 3-1 win with Bobby Grant ensuring Town’s record of scoring in every league game to date rolled on.

Rosler said: “The way the goals go in, those mistakes we are doing are based on fatigue.

“It is the third game in a week, the Tuesday game took so much out of us, it is not an excuse but anyone who saw us at Valley Parade knows what we invested in that game.

“As a coach you need to honest.

“We made a lot of good decisions over the last 14 months but today I should have started with more fresh legs in the team to give ourselves a better chance to win the game.”

He added: “We are all disappointed that we lost the game but we have to put up the hand, they were better than us, there is no question about it.

“I actually hoped at half-time that we could add more tempo or more energy in the game but it did not happen.

“In the past we had a lot of substitutions that impacted the game, today they did not impact the game.

“In general a day to forget and a day to move on.

“We concentrate now on Morecambe on Tuesday (in the Checkatrade Trophy).

“I was thinking into that game to refresh things but on the other side the team did so well and nobody really deserved to be taken out.

“Sometimes that is a difficult thing for a coach but sometimes the only thing against teams with such good ball quality like Charlton you need to have the enrgy from the top, in midfield to press them and we were not capable of doing that.
