Hide AdLeague One is a competitive enough division at the best of times, but with the disruption caused by the pandemic and matches continually being postponed, the table is even more congested than normal.
“There are a lot of ifs and buts going on in the league at the moment,” said Burns, who scored Town’s final goal of 2020 in the draw at Crewe Alexandra on Boxing Day.
“Teams aren’t playing because of Covid cases so there’s been a lot of disruption this year.
“It’s going to go right down to the wire. To be just a few points off the play-offs and not many more off the top, you can pick those kind of points up in a week with a three-game week.
“We’ll keep going right until the end.”

Hide AdThis month sees Burns celebrate four years with Town, having had a previous loan spell at the club in the 2015-16 season.
He has made 174 appearances for Town, netting 24 goals and having featured in a number of different positions along the way.
The 26-year-old says that versatility has proved a benefit to him during his time at Highbury.
“You want to play week in, week out,” he explained.
“If you’re not nailing down one spot it’s good to have an option to play in different positions.
