Town’s players will report back for duty next week, little more than a month after their Wembley victory which sealed promotion to League One.

The club’s first pre-season friendly at Colwyn Bay is pencilled in for July 10, ahead of the planned training trip to Austria.

There will be three new faces – Danny Andrew, Jamie Proctor and Keith Southern – at their Fylde RUFC training base.

And Alexander insists there isn’t much more work to do on building his squad.

Having signed a left-back, central midfielder and striker this summer, he believes the problem areas in the squad have been addressed.

Alexander told The Gazette: “If we started the season with this squad I’d be happy. We’ve looked at key areas to strengthen and we’ve done that.

“Of course we’re always looking to improve the squad – there’s no manager who isn’t. That will go on right up to the start of the season and beyond.

“We’re not saying there won’t be any more signings but if this is the squad we start with, I think we’re in a good position.”

Alexander has insisted he will keep his faith in the majority of the players who sealed the club’s sixth promotion in 10 seasons.

Goalkeeper Chris Maxwell and right-back Conor McLaughlin have both signed new deals.

Fleetwood’s League One campaign kicks off at home to Crewe Alexandra on August 9 and two fixtures have been switched to new dates.

The home matche against Barnsley has been moved back 24 hours to Wednesday, September 17 (kick-off 7.45pm). This is to avoid a clash with Blackpool’s home game against Watford on the Tuesday.

The Easter visit to Gillingham has been brought forward a day from Saturday to Good Friday (April 3, 3pm).
