It's been an eventful start to Blackpool's January transfer window, but there's ...

Head coach Michael Appleton promised the Seasiders would be on the front foot in the market and would look to wrap up signings early.

That’s exactly what they’ve done with Morgan Rogers arriving on loan from Manchester City and Josh Bowler completing a remarkable return from today’s FA Cup opponents Nottingham Forest.

“It’s huge, it’s been absolutely massive,” Kerslake said of Blackpool’s early transfer business.

“It certainly feels like it’s been my best week since I’ve been at the football club.

“It’s put a smile on everybody’s face because you can never get too much quality through the door.

“We’ve worked with Morgan before at Lincoln and we know he’s got pace and fantastic dribbling ability.

“He’s also an asset in our penalty box, he will be a zonal marker and attack the ball so there’s a lot to his game.

“With Josh, of course everybody knows him and the impact he’s had at the club in the past and I suspect, looking at him right now, he’s raring to go because his chest is out.

“He’s an out-and-out matchwinner, but if we can add one or two more then it’s going to be a fantastic opportunity for us.”

When asked if Blackpool are likely to target additions in defence and midfield after strengthening their forward line, Kerslake added: “That would be the ideal scenario, yes.”
