“I take pride in doing nothing in the game. If I do nothing in a game, I’m happier than when I save 10 shots and still keep a clean sheet.
“Every team in this league has got a threat, every team in this league is competitive and every team is different.
“It’s how we adapt to that. We’re no easy team to play against, so we’re all looking forward to Saturday.”

Maxwell is, nevertheless, confident both in his team-mates and also in the work that was put in over the summer.
He explained: “The work that we did in pre-season was relentless and quite tough. Not just physically but tactically as well.
“I’ve been a professional footballer for 13 years now and that pre-season was the toughest I’ve seen since I’ve been a player.

Hide Ad“We’ve added to that with the squad that we’ve got and the recruitment within the squad this summer – and any player in this team can play in any game and we wouldn’t be weaker at all.
“These periods where it is relentless and it is Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, it is where we will benefit.”
