Youngsters hit the right note at Christmas concert
Family and friends were invited to the 13th annual Christmas Festival Concert to celebrate the achievements of the resort’s children.
The Empress Ballroom resounded to popular Christmas classics, Christmas film music and favourite pop tunes performed by a massed schools orchestra BASSO, the Youth Concert Band brass band, Blackpool Music Service Youth Choir and an 800 strong primary school choir.

In total around 1,000 children will take part in both concerts.
Coun Graham Cain, cabinet secretary for Blackpool Council, said: “Teaching our children to be able to read and play music is a really important skill.
“Not only does music allow them to learn new things and meet new people, but it also helps with their confidence and personal development too.
“Every year, the Christmas concert proves to be a resounding success.”
