Two records have already been smashed by youngsters at the park.

Families are taking on unusual challenges this week in a bid to break the records for most hats thrown onto a clothes stand, most tennis balls caught in a bucket on the head, most stuffed animals thrown into a bucket in a minute, and more.

And the record for the fastest time to put on 10 inflatable arm bands was broken by nine-year-old Izzie Edge, with a time of 8.6 seconds.

The world record attempts will continue at the park until Friday.

Pleasure Beach logistics manager Jason Taylor, who helped organise the activities along with Guinness, said: “It’s been amazingly busy this week. We have had a constant flow of people. You can come at any time from 10am until 4pm and practice as many time as you like. We had kids with us all day going over and over.

“We finish off the Guinness week on Saturday with a late night and fireworks, so we will go out with a bang.

“We’ve had a guy from Australia compete, and we’ve had people from Egypt and Suden. We have grandparents competing with their grandkids.

“This is the third year we have done it and it’s the most records we have ever broken, and we’re only halfway through the week.”
