Speeding driver sparked massive chase through Blackpool

Officers attempted to stop the silver Peugeot in Hornby Road at around 7.50pm on Tuesday on suspicion of speeding.

The driver made off, leading to a chase through Poulton, Grange Park, Layton and South Shore areas.

A large number of police were seen following the car along Whitegate Drive and Bloomfield Road.

Lancashire Police said the vehicle travelled towards North Shore before returning to South Shore with the driver making off from the vehicle in Balmoral Road.

He was later arrested in the Bond Street area.

A 29-year-old man from Rochdale was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, drug-driving and driving without insurance.

He is currently in custody.
