Traders praised by council watchdog

Plumbing and heating company Jay Law Ltd scooped the award for December, while Gilderdale Roofing and Wainwright Electrical also won prizes in January and February.

Jay Law, which has operated for many years, won the award after being praised for their work to help Blackpool Coastal Housing customers over the last twelve months.

Company director Jay Law said: “We are proud to accept the Safe and Secure Trader of the month award, it is a great recognition for us and shows that all our hard work is paying off.

“We take customer satisfaction very seriously and this award is a great indicator that we are fulfilling the expectations of our customers. We really do feel honoured to be recognised!”

Congratulations also go to Gilderdale Roofing and Wainwright Electrical who also won trader of the month awards during the winter.

Tim Coglan, Blackpool Council’s Service Manager for Public Protection, said: “The Safe and Secure Directory of trusted traders has been developed in partnership with Care and Repair, Age UK and the Police to provide consumers with confidence when employing traders in the home.

“Traders on our directory have to pass a number of criteria to ensure that people who use them get a good service and can steer clear of questionable traders.

“I would urge customers to consider checking the Safe and Secure Directory before calling a trader for help.”
