The Wonder Ice synthetic rink to return for festive period

The Wonder Ice synthetic rink will open in Lytham Piazza from 11am to late until January 3 – and Fylde mayor Coun Peter Hardy will perform the official opening ceremony on Saturday at 1.30pm.

Thousands of people enjoyed the rink – run by St Annes-based former international skaters Alexei Kislitsyn and Natalia Pestova – when it was last in Lytham in 2012.

It was unavailable for 2013 after being hired by a garden centre in Yorkshire, while three other Wonder Ice rinks were already booked to be located at Butlins holiday sites for the festive season.

Natalia said: “We are really pleased to be bringing the rink back to Lytham.”
