The Urban Dodgers crew from Urban Dance Project are heading to World championships

Dancers are celebrating after winning places at world and European championships.

The Urban Dodgers crew from Urban Dance Project (UDP) are “proud of their achievements” after securing championship places at the United Dance Organisation (UDO) qualifiers in Stoke-On Trent.

UDP founder and dance teacher Michelle Ramsay, who runs classes at Unity Academy on Warbreck Hill Road, Phil Winstons, North Promenade and South Shore Academy on St Annes Road, said: “It was an absolutely amazing day.

“UDP are definitely bringing the trophies home to Blackpool and I’m so proud of everyone.”

Michelle, who plans to open UDP’s own studio in the new year, took 22 dancers, aged four to 15, to the UDO Midlands event last month, and is now looking forward to taking the team of 10 Dodgers to UDO’s European cChampionships in Germany in May and the World Championships in August in Glasgow.

She said: “Well done to everyone that competed, it was such a busy and talented competition, we did absolutely amazingly, I’m so unbelievably proud.”
