Teens may have seen '˜serious' car crash

Police have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses after a pedestrian was left with a punctured lung when he was hit by a car.

Officers want to speak to three teenagers – two male and one female – who they believe were in the area when a black Fiat Punto came off the road on Tithebarn Street, in Poulton.

A pedestrian, 59, suffered leg injuries and several fractures when he was hit by the vehicle. He remains in a ‘serious but stable condition’ in hospital, police said.

Officers also want to speak to a nurse who tended to the victim and a man who identified himself as a mountain ranger following the incident at around 4.35pm on Saturday.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and dangerous driving. He was bailed until March 7.
