He has now secured a post with American law firm Dechert, based in London.

A spokesman for his new employers said: “Congratulations to Dan Lund, who recently was recognised as the winner of the City of London Solicitors’ Company Prize for 2014.

“The award is given each year to a trainee solicitor at a firm practicing in London or the surrounding area who shows the most promise as a future city solicitor.

“We look forward to seeing what he will do next when
he qualifies as a solicitor this autumn and becomes a member of our London litigation team.”
