Primary school staff abseil for charity
And 14 plucky staff members from Moor Park Primary School in Bispham certainly lived up to that promise when they abseiled 40ft for charity.
They raised more than £1,500 for Cancer Research after completing the challenge at Winmarleigh Hall, near Preston.

Hide AdMichelle Morris, Key Stage 1 teacher, said: “It was all for charity to support Cancer Research as many of our staff and close family have been affected by cancer in recent years.
“It was the brainchild of Emma Pook, our Year 6 teacher.
“An abseil was something quite challenging.
“A few members of staff had done it before from when the children do abseiling on residential visits.
“But the rest were incredibly nervous.
“It took a lot of courage.
“We were excited to do it and we knew we were doing it for a good cause.”
The school on Moor Park Avenue also held a non-uniform day which raised £540 for Cancer Research.

Hide AdMichelle added: “The children have really encouraged us and loved seeing the pictures of the abseil.
“Our learning motto at school is ‘be brave learners and have a go’. It was great for them to see we had overcome the challenge.
“With the donations from non-uniform day and our sponsorship money, we have raised over £1,500.
“We’d like to thank all our supporters for being so generous.”
