A park in Fleetwood will be playing host to a free workshop session at the weekend based around the theme of poppies.
The session will help with the planned creation of around 10,000 plastic poppies for Fleetwood’s North West in Bloom display.
It is hoped they can be displayed around the town ready for when the judges visit later in the summer.
The idea will be for the specially-made poppies, made from used pop bottles and painted red, to be used to create vivid displays on church railings, roundabouts and the town’s Euston Gardens.
The session will take place at the town’s Memorial Park on Saturday, from 12pm to 3pm.
People can drop into the workshop and help create this summer’s ‘in bloom’ display with Fleetwood Town Council, with all materials provided.
