While 50 MPs can sit in the actual chamber, the rest are conducting business from home.

Mr Benton, inset, asked the Secretary of State for Justice Robert Buckland MP what steps he is taking to restore the confidence of victims and the general public in the criminal justice system.

Mr Buckland replied that the first steps had already been taken, but proposals to deal with serious, violent and sexual offenders would be brought forward, and there will also be an introduction of further terrorist legislation to ‘ensure that the most serious and dangerous terrorist offenders spend longer in prison and face tougher license conditions.’
