Scott Benton, MP for Blackpool South, is urging residents to join him in remembering VE day in their homes when it is commemorated next week against the backdrop of current restrictions.

The UK Government has announced revised plans to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day , on Friday, May 8, which will include an address from the the Queen at 9pm on BBC One.
Mr Benton, inset, said: “We might be self-isolating, but residents in Blackpool South can still come together in spirit in their homes with me to commemorate Victory in Europe Day, and I am sure they will.
“It is an opportunity that should not be missed to remember and thank those who gave so much in the war years leading up to 1945.”
