Person rescued from burning building as firefighters battle blaze for two hours in Fleetwood

Emergency services rushed to Silvia Way after receiving reports people were trapped inside a house engulfed in flames shortly after 1am this morning (June 26).
Smoke was filling the building when fire crews from Fleetwood and Bispham arrived at the scene, but the casualty trapped inside was successfully rescued.

Hide AdThe person was checked over for smoke inhalation by paramedics at the scene.
Firefighters battled the blaze for nearly two hours using four breathing apparatus and two hose reels.
A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters from Fleetwood and Bispham were called to reports of a fire involving a domestic property on Silvia Way, Fleetwood where it was believed there may be people still inside the property.
"On arrival firefighters found the property heavily smoke logged. They rescued one casualty from the building and extinguished the fire using four breathing apparatus and two hose reels."
North West Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
