Bold plans for forgotten garden site
New gates have already been installed at the plot off Bancroft Avenue in Thornton.
And it is hoped the site, donated by housing group Regenda, could be transformed to include allotments, a sensory area and outdoor gym equipment.

The park, which has been named GEM by its founders, will take shape over the coming months.
One of the backers is David Blower who lives nearby and was previously a leading figure in the West View Community Association.
Mr Blower, 77, is chairman of the group set up to transform the side.
He said: “We want this to be a space for everyone.

“Hopefully we can achieve the same here.
“I’m not as young as I used to be but we have a great team and I’m sure we can make it happen.”
Coun Andrea Kay is backing the project and has already arranged for new gates to be installed at the site.
She said: “We’re just starting things right now but there are so many plans.
“If anyone has any more ideas they should get in touch.
“Right now we’d love to find local businesses who want to get involved, particularly with things like timber.”
