Today police asked magistrates for extra time to question a 22-year-old man in relation to the incident.
Det Supt Dermott Horrigan, from the Force Major Investigation Team, said: “A murder investigation is under way and I would appeal to any witnesses or anybody with any information about this incident to come forward. We are still at the early stages of the investigation and are still trying to establish the circumstances of what has happened.
“Crime Scene investigators are continuing to examine the scene and officers are carrying out house to house enquires but I would be keen to speak with anybody that heard any disturbance on Glen Eldon Road, or with any knowledge of what has taken place to speak with police.”
