Investigation after sudden death of baby

Police and paramedics were called to a house in Kemp Street at 10.30am on Monday after reports that a baby had died suddenly.

A police spokeswoman said: “Emergency services attended and the body of a newborn baby boy was found at the address.

“An investigation has been launched but it is still in the very early stages.”

A member of the public who saw police at the scene said: “Police smashed the door down, there were quite a lot of police there.”
