High flying duo rake in the cash

The pair, who are both Year Seven pupils in Holmes College at Lytham St Annes High Technology College, raced against the clock to complete 200 obstacles at Lytham’s Kaos Indoor High Wire Adventure in the fastest-ever time.

They managed it – racing round 12 laps in just over 35 minutes – and have so far raised more than £50 for towards their college’s fund-raising mission.

Mia, 12, said: “My mum went down to Kaos because we had been before and asked if there were any records – there was and by doing 200 obstacles we beat it.

“We are the fastest people ever to do it and it was really good, we were really sweaty by the end.”

And Jasmine, 11, added: “As a college we are trying to raise as much money as possible for Easterleigh because it burned down last year.

“The college is also selling cakes and ice cream and popcorn to raise money.”

Each of the Lytham school’s six colleges are encouraging its pupils to raise funds for a different charity, with the college which raises the most securing a trophy.

Head of Holmes College Andrea Boyle said: “I’m very proud of Mia and Jasmine and we’ve had an amazing response from the whole college. Our initial target is £500 but we are hoping to raise more than that.”
