Go-ahead for college car park
Wyre Council officers agreed to the scheme which will be constructed on land currently being used as a temporary car park, close to the main college building.

Hide AdOne neighbour of the Blackpool Old Road college objected to the proposal.
Concerns were raised over light pollution levels from the existing car park and noise from the site.
Wyre Council planning officers said the college had made a case to allow construction on the green belt site.
The authority hopes landscaping work will screen the site from the main road, but officers accepted it would take time for plants and trees to become established.
The car park would provide 120 parking spaces.

Hide AdIncluding the current temporary parking the college site has capacity for 50 but currently accommodates around 80 vehicles. More than 50 staff are employed at the site and many students also have their own transport.
