Fenton has a master’s degree and for the last eight years has headed the post graduate study unit at
Lancaster University Management School.

Before that she worked at the University of Central Lancashire.

The 43-year-old, from St Michael’s Road, Kirkham, was dressed all in black when she made a two minute appearance before magistrates in Blackpool.

The court remanded her in custody and she will next appear before Preston Crown Court on March 18 when her lawyer Brett Chappell said a bail application would be made.
