Fylde MP speaks out on Windrush scandal
Fylde MP Mark Menzies says many people '˜are paying an awful price' for mistakes made in dealing with immigration issues raised due to the recent Windrush scandal.
In a speech to Parliament, he said: “I hope that we are able to come together to sort the mess of Windrush and to ensure that immigration policy in this country is fair and balanced, regardless of the colour of someone’s skin or where they are from.
“I hope that we are able to ensure that it reflects them as an individual and the contribution we believe they can make to our country.”
He added it was time to move forward and thank those ‘who have shone a light’ on the issue to put it right.
