Fylde family facing courts over fracking action
A 73-year-old grandmother, her son and granddaughter are among seven people facing charges resulting from a “lock-on” action at Cuadrilla’s Preston New Road fracking site near Little Plumpton.
Under the banner of Families Against Fracking, the group locked their arms into reinforced tubes in brightly painted boxes at the site entrance to express their fears of the effects of fracking onwater, land, health and the climate.

Hide AdThe action was part of the Rolling Resistance, a month of action at site in July 2017 coordinated by the group Reclaim the Power.
They have pleaded not guilty to the charge of obstruction of the highway.
Gillian Kelly, who will appear with her son Sebastian and grand-daughter Megan, said: “I’d never done anything like this before, but I certainly have no regrets.”
