Fishermen dig deep at annual reunion
The generous donation is testament to how Fleetwood’s fishing community is still very much alive.
Despite a demise in the town’s fishing industry, its annual reunion is popular and this year was no exception.

Organiser Leon O’Flaherty said: “It was an absolute success and a total sell out.
“People came from Canada, Hull, Lowestoft, South Shields, they were booking in the Euston Hotel and staying overnight.
“We raised a £1,000 on the raffle, people gave all their support and were very generous, unbelievable.

The evening included entertainment from the Old Boys Band, a DJ and the big raffle.
There are still a few unclaimed raffle prizes. Those still with tickets should ring Leon with the numbers to see if they have won. And next year’s event is booked for the first week in August.
