Teens held after car chase across resort playing field
Officers had tried to pull the black 318i over in Exchange Street, North Shore, after they saw its occupants ‘acting suspiciously’ at around 10.45pm, but it instead sped off.
They pursued it across Claremont playing fields towards Devonshire Road, down Waverley Avenue, and onto Warbreck Hill Road.

One neighour described seeing a dark coloured car being chased across Claremont field, behind Claremont Community Primary School.
“I could still hear sirens and then the police helicopter but couldn’t see much else,” she said.
A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said no chopper was involved in the chase and was in the air on a separate matter.
