Painkiller and drink mix man's threats

A man in Blackpool town centre acted aggressively and made threats.

Daniel Heywood, 26, of Banks Street, North Shore, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said police saw Heywood acting aggressively in Dickson Road on February 24 at 4am. He was advised numerous times to go home and moderate his language. Heywood refused and fashioned a knuckleduster by putting a key between his fingers

Michael Woosnam, defending, said his client was on a cocktail of painkillers for a back injury, had had a drink and remembered nothing of the incident.

Heywood was sentenced to a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs plus £15 victims’ surcharge at Blackpool Magistrates Court.
