Man wanted after needle-wielding burglar threatens police officer and member of public in Blackpool

Officers were called to reports of a burglary on South Park Drive at around 2.30pm on Friday, June 12.
A man ran away from the scene after he was disturbed by police but was found on Carsluith Avenue.

Hide AdHe then proceeded to pull out a syringe before threatening a police officer and a member of the public with the needle.
The needle-wielding burglar then made off from the scene on foot.
Heathcliffe Griffiths, 49, is now wanted in connection with the incident, as well as an attack on an emergency worker and offences of aggravated burglary, common assault and criminal damage.
PC Kim Roberts, from Blackpool Police, said: "We urgently need to locate Griffiths and I would ask that the public do not approach him but report any sightings to police immediately.

Hide Ad"I would also urge Griffiths to do the right thing and hand himself in at the nearest police station."
Griffiths, who is also wanted on prison recall, is described as 5ft 7in tall, of slim build with a bald head and beard.
He has links to Blackpool, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Staffordshire.
