Man smashed in face with vodka bottle
The victim, who did not wish to be named, was attacked as he went to check up on a rented property in Dickson Road on New Year’s Day.
He found a group of up to 10 people inside the flat and was attacked as the group left the property.
The man was hit in the face with a full bottle of vodka.

Hide AdHe also believes one or more members of the gang may have hit him with a brick before trampling him as they forced their way out of the property.
The victim said: “I don’t remember much about it.
“I remember opening the door and seeing a lot of people inside.
“Then I was hit with the bottle. I don’t remember much after that.
“They’ve run away and as they’ve done so I’ve been trampled.
“When I got up there was blood everywhere.

Hide Ad“I tried to get back to my car but I was spotted by a hotelier who helped me and called the police.”
Lancashire Police confirmed officers had attended the property at the rear of Dickson Road following reports of an assault.
A spokesman said: “We were called at around 4pm on January 1 to reports of an assault at a property to the rear of Dickson Road.
“The victim suffered facial injuries having been hit with a spirits bottle.
“We believe the assault was carried out by one man.
“However a number of other individuals were believed to have been at the property at the time.
“They are suspected to have been squatting there.”
