Scott Christy, who had been told by friends she would break his heart, had now declared that he wanted nothing to do with her and that he would never contact her again a court was told.

Christy, 26, of Scott Close, Marton, pleaded guilty to harassment. Malcolm Isherwood, prosecuting, said the couple had been in a relationship for two years.

The victim ended the relationship and in 2015 she went to the police because he kept contacting her. Christy was then given a harassment warning.

Since January 15 this year, the victim had received about 315 messages, a similar number of missed calls, four voice mails and two letters from Christy, who also turned up at her home.

In October last year he was given a harassment warning, but she later phoned him and they got back together, before splitting once more.

Christy was sentenced to a 12-month community order with up to 20 days’ rehabilitation, and fined £55 with £85 costs by Blackpool magistrates.
