Heathcliffe Griffiths, 49, was arrested yesterday (July 9) in Greater Manchester on suspicion of an unrelated incident of going equipped for burglary.

He had also been wanted on suspicion of burglary, aggravated burglary, assault on an emergency worker, common assault and criminal damage.

Lancashire Police had issued a public appeal to help find Griffiths after he allegedly threatened an officer with a syringe in Carsluith Avenue on June 12.

The force has thanked those members of the public who helped circulate the appeal.
