Five fire engines rush to blaze at commercial unit in Thornton

Fire crews rushed to a blaze at a commercial unit on Butts Close in Thornton at around 1.30pm yesterday (March 20).

Five fire engines from Blackpool, Bispham, South Shore and Fleetwood attended the scene.

Firefighters discovered the fire was located at an industrial workshop.

One hose reel and two breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 1.30pm to reports of a fire at a commercial unit on Butts Close in Thornton-Cleveleys.

"Five fire engines from Blackpool, Bispham, South Shore and Fleetwood attended the scene.

"When firefighters arrived they found the fire was located in some kind of industrial workshop

"Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the fire."
