Hide AdJim Mowbray, prosecuting, said police got a 999 call which was abandoned and they traced the source of the call to Douglas’s address on May 9. Douglas’s partner, who had the couple’s one-year-old child in her arms, told officers she had called after the defendant had come home drunk.
Douglas was aggressive with the officers telling them “you better arrest me.” When they did he tried to escape through the front door and started fighting.
Stephen Duffy, defending, said his client had gone out and drank too much. There had been tension in the house.
