Battered Blackpool man in serious condition after being found unresponsive at home

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was found unresponsive following an attack at his home in Blackpool.

He was found unconscious with a number of serious injuries when police and paramedics were called to the property in St Anthony’s Place, North Shore at 7.58am last Thursday.

An air ambulance was reportedly called out and he was airlifted to hospital for emergency treatment. His current condition is described as ‘serious but stable’.

Lancashire Police said two men from Blackpool - aged 39 and 18 - were arrested on suspicion of Section 18 Assault - known as grievous bodily harm. The pair have since been bailed.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called to St Anthony’s Place, Blackpool, at 7.58am on May 9 following reports of an assault.

“Officers have attended and found a man inside a property unresponsive. He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

“Two men - aged 39 and 18 – from Blackpool were arrested on suspicion of Section 18 Assault. They have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

North West Ambulance Service were approached for comment.
