A Blackpool man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Malcolm Frary, who was found strangled at his Eccleston Road home on New Year’s Day.

Ian Dunne, 43, of Withnell Road, was arrested on January 5, four days after the widowed father-of-four’s body was discovered.

A 51-year-old man was also arrested, but was later released by police under investigation.

Dunne is due to appear at Preston Crown Court for a pre-trial review hearing on June 9. A trial date has been set for June 27.
