A 17-year-old boy has been charged following a knife assault in Houndshill Shopping Centre Blackpool yesterday (Saturday, November 5.)

Earlier today (November 6), the Gazette reported how two teenagers had been arrested following the city centre incident, but now police have provided a further update.

Taking to Facebook at 11:21am, Blackpool Police wrote: “After consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, a 17 year old male from Blackpool has now been charged with Attempt Grievous Bodily Harm, Affray and Threatening with a Bladed Article.

A 17-year-old has been charged with three offences following an incident in Houndshill Shopping Centre Blackpool yesterday (Saturday, November 5.)

“He has been remanded into custody and will appear at Blackpool Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday 7th November).

“The 2nd male arrested has been released under investigation.”

No serious injuries were suffered during the incident, but it did lead to an increased police presence in Blackpool Town Centre throughout the afternoon.
