Crews rescue dog from Blackpool chip pan fire

A dog was rescued from a Blackpool house this morning after a chip pan caught fire.

The incident happened just before 6am at a house on Davenport Avenue in North Shore.

Fire engines from the Bispham and Blackpool stations were sent to the fire and used a hose reel and breathing apparatus to put out the flames.

The dog was rescued by the crews and is not believed to have been injured.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the crews were in attendance for approximately one hour twenty minutes.
