Candle sparks house fire in Blackpool
and live on Freeview channel 276
Two fire engines from Blackpool rushed to the property at around 4.20am today (December 28) to extinguish the flames, but discovered it had already been put out upon arrival.
Firefighters proceeded to make the scene safe before giving one person a precautionary check for smoke inhalation.

- Make sure your candles are placed on a stable surface, out of reach of children and pets.
- Keep all naked flames away from upholstery, soft furnishings and other fabrics.
- Do not move the candle once lit.

- Extinguish your candles using a snuffer or spoon. This helps to reduce the risk of accidentally producing sparks when blowing them out.
