Borough named a fair place to trade

More than 30 churches and close to 60 other organisations including shops, cafes and schools have signed up to selling products which are sourced fairly and with a long-term view of the producers’ needs.

Coun Kevin Eastham, Fylde mayor, said: “We’ve all seen the roadsigns saying that Fylde is a Fairtrade borough – I’m proud to say they will be staying.

“Our local volunteers have galvanised local enterprises into selling Fairtrade goods that people want to buy.”

The accreditation was renewed by the national Fairtrade Foundation after volunteers recruited more hotels to selling Fairtrade products.
