Rescuers were called after multiple people were cut off by the tide near Gynn Square at around 6.55pm on Tuesday (August 9).

One D-Class inshore lifeboat was launched, but crews found the people had managed to get themselves back to safety on arrival.

Crews checked the area before the lifeboat was returned to station.

At 1.45pm on Wednesday (August 10), RNLI Blackpool were called after a person was spotted in the water south of Central Pier.

The D-Class lifeboat was at the water's edge when a call came through to say the casualty was safe.

Just over five hours later, at 7.05pm, a report came through that a person had been sighted in the sea near North Pier.

The person was subsequently found safe and well and no launch was required.

At 8am, crews were preparing to help a person in the water when they spotted several people in the sea at Central Pier

“Thanks to the security team on the pier for spotting the casualty and helping the person back to safety,” a spokesman for RNLI Blackpool said.

No launch was required but assistance was given.
