The Chorley Group, which operates dealerships in Chorley, Preston, Wigan, Burnley as well as Blackpool, has bought the land on Foxhole Road from Northern Trust.

The site is opposite its current Nissan showroom on Ackhurst Road, Chorley, and will be used as a retail facility.

Work is expected to start within the next three months.

Adam Turner, sales director, said: “We’re really pleased we’ve acquired the land opposite our existing dealership on Ackhurst Road, it will be a huge asset to add to our continued growth over the past 12 months.

“Chorley is a growing town and the council is doing a really great job in increasing employment and investment in the area. As it is our home town, we want to be a huge part of the growth in Chorley as well.

“We are going through a period of investing heavily in our increasing property portfolio, and over the last two years we have invested more than £1m in refurbishing and upgrading our showrooms and aftersales facilities to ensure our customers receive the best possible experience, with much more to come.”

The site had been held within Northern Trust’s land holding for a number of years, but does not form part of the company’s core portfolio.
