Beach huts set to expand

Winter is upon us... so it’s time to start thinking of beach huts!

Five more of the popular huts are to be installed on St Annes seafront next week, doubling the number available, after the first huts opened for business earlier this year.

Stuart and Zoe Robertson, the couple behind the scheme, have been delighted with the reaction to the initial five huts, which were installed last year and are now rated as a top attraction in Lytham and St Annes by the tourism website Tripadvisor.

“Day rentals have been really busy as we were full most of the summer,” said Mr Robertson.

“We are installing the latest five now because the promenade is quieter and offers time to get them ready for next season.

“But we have one or two bookings over Christmas and New Year with people asking for heaters and pans to make their mulled wine!”

Earlier this year, following an initial launch in March, the couple reported that – despite the poor weather then – there had been plenty of interest in the seafront huts available forday bookings.

Mr Robertson said inquiries had come from all over the region.

There were initially five huts available on the seafront – but the couple had planning permission which allowed them to install more.

The huts are available for rental or purchase.

Day rentals are from £45.
